In Nigeria and especially in growing urban cities like Lagos, Abuja and P.H, there is a growing obesity problem as well as reduced average life span. More and more Nigerians are dying very young to the extent that the average lifespan of a Nigerian has now been pegged at just under 51 years according to a 2011 report by the the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).The bottomline is that Nigerians are not living lives to the fullest and so more and more people are beginning to see the need for staying fit and healthy and that's why they feel the need for staying active. The average Nigerian lifestyle is mostly business and filled with a lot of time constraints and so people need to be able stay subscribed to a program or centre that would allow them to stay fit. This is where fitness centres come in place and there are a growing number of fitness centres in urban cities across Nigeria.Setting up a fitness centre requires at least having space like a large room or place with exercising equipment, tools, an instructor(s) as well as entertainment. You can make money by selling fitness products, subscription plans or services to people who want to subscribe based on a periodic basis such as weekly, monthly or yearly. You can also sell books and videos that offer weight loss trainings.Fitness centres I've seen in Lagos make use of equipments such as exercise bikes, Ab wheels, table tennis tables, swimming pools, skipping ropes, and so on. There are also some who focus on basically exercising the body without the need for equipments. If you are going to do this business, you are going to need an instructor who knows a range of weight loss exercises that people can do as a group for a couple of minutes. A lot of people will be motivated to exercise when they see others doing the same.Once people start subscribing to your gym and feel satisfied, the more likely they'll invite their friends and it will be good business for you.
