We are already in the final quarter of 2011 and the year is almost over as we are already approaching October which is just less than 3 months to Christmas.

So, how has your year been? How profitable has it been running your business? If you didn't make more money this year than the capital or efforts you have invested, then it may not be too late to make ends meet and reach a turning point. Even if you've had a profitable year, there are still opportunities to make money in Nigeria before January 1, 2011.

On the 1st of October 2011, Nigeria will be celebrating its independence anniversary so you might just make that the beginning of better income for your before and into 2012.

What small business can one do that will fetch him money before the end of 2011?
Well, this can be a hard question but things you will have to consider are:
- A short term business
- Amount of capital in hand
- Target

Things you will have to consider are
- The holidays and events are coming
- People will be more willing to shop and travel
- People would spend more time at home, church and internet
- More socializing
- Companies would be doing more promos and give-aways

If you have capital
Here are some small businesses you can do in Nigeria
- Apparels and clothing business: You may import from Dubai or China or just do reselling
- Investing in gift and provision products or shops
- Invest in recharge card business
- Take advantage of wholesale promos and then resell
- Travel and travelling agency business

If you have little or no capital
- Do marketing of other people's products and get commission per sale
- Join a business group but not as a volunteer
- Invest in recharge card retailing
- Socialize: to get more business opportunities
- Offer services for a fee
- Write thousands of articles and submit to Hubpages
- Write a book

There could be many more small businesses one can do in Nigeria within this quarter to make some income so just think of a good business plan
