How to use Paypal safely and effectively in Nigeria

For those who want to make money online, having a Paypal account can open many doors for you such as getting paid your affiliate commissions or for online services at freelance communities. Anyway, having a Paypal account can open up newer opportunities for you in Nigeria as it allows you to receive payments into an online account much faster than cheques or bank transfers.

Anyway, I've been using a Paypal account from Nigeria and I just want to share with you guys on how you too can do it effectively without having to get banned for your account.

Things you will need

- A Payoneer Mastercard
- A VPN service and country address
- A Paypal account

A Payoneer Mastercard
===================
If you've made some good money from Paypal, then one thing you should do is apply for a Payoneer mastercard. Getting such a card in Nigeria for now is free but the only thing is that there are some charges attached to it such as maintenance fee and ATM withdrawal fee. So if you're already making money with your Paypal account, it's probably time to get a Payoneer mastercard. Just apply for one and use your correct details in Nigeria and they'll send you a card by postal mail. It will take a few weeks to reach you home in Nigeria

VPN service
======
A VPN service is service that allows you to change your ip address when you are connected to the internet. You should get a VPN service for the country you want to open a Paypal account in. You can get one for the USA or for an Asian country like Hong Kong or China. I prefer making use of a US based VPN service.

You can get a VPN service from for as low as a year. You may also get a monthly or quarterly service if you don't want a yearly plan.

One you get a VPN service, Google for an address close that ip address and then use that address when registering for Paypal.

A Paypal account
============
First of all, you need to connect to your VPN connection before going to Paypal so that you may be accepted and not limited. You should always make use of that VPN connection anytime you are accessing Paypal from outside the Paypal country like in Nigeria. You should also register for a Paypal account with Paypal using your email address and the US or Asian address close to that ip address which the VPN service had set up.

Your Paypal account will however not be verified when you create the account as you still need to add a bank account or credit card for that Paypal country.

Verifying your Paypal account

The two ways to verify a Paypal account is by adding a credit card or bank account. In this case, you should make use of your Payoneer mastercard account and enable a US virtual bank account in it. You will see the details when you log into your account. If your US payment service has not been enabled, just send them an email and they'll enable it.

Your US payment service with Payoneer will contain details like bank name, account number and other details. Go to your Paypal account, click to verify account and add the bank details. It would only take about a week and you'll see some transactions in your Payoneer Mastercard account. Add those 2 figures to Paypal and your account will be verified.

Now you have a working verified Paypal account in Nigeria.

*Also make sure that you always log into your Paypal account using your VPN service related to your Paypal country.

You probably have to provide 2 different valid ids to do that. Why would you want 2 accounts in the first place?
